Seems like January is the month for literary contest writers and with mouth-watering and palm-sweating prizes up for grabs, entering a competition or two is definitely a great new year resolution for 2012!

One Million Naira Grand Prize, N300,000 and N200,000 respectively for the second and third best places.

But who's sponsoring this? Unless over 500 people pay N3000 the sponsors won't make a profit, so...
ReplyDeleteThank you for your contribution. Sometimes, organisers charge a fee NOT to necessarily make profit but to discourage writers from sending several week entries. But that being said, some organisers might not even have enough money to run the competition except through entry fees and when the response is too low, they either keep extending the deadline or cancel the whole exercise.
