Arising from our call for submission of poems in Nigerian pidgin for the publication of an anthology of poems in Naija, a panel of five was constituted to select poems worthy of publication viz; Denja Abdullahi – Chairman, Chiedu Ezeanah, Chris Otaigbe, Spencer Okoroafor and David Abraham.
We are pleased to announce that the anthology, IF YU HIE SE A DE PRIZIN containing 93 poems from 32 poets will be formally unveiled and presented to the public on Thursday, 19th April, 2012 at the REIZ Continental Hotel, Central Business District, Abuja.
While we sincerely thank you all for responding to our call, we look forward to your esteemed presence at the event.

Book Launch: A Time to Heal by Seye Oke
Everyone is invited to the Book Release event of Seye Oke's latest book titled “A Time to Heal”. This creative work takes readers through a journey of uncertainties and excitement as it narrows in on the triumphs and failure experienced by Toriola and Chidi in the face of a civil war.
In A Time to Heal, Chidi finds the very essence of his existence tested when he is called on to fulfill a family obligation that exists beyond his nuclear family. He finds himself on a journey of self-discovery as his close companions, Dozie, Azuka and Jude, lure him to fight for a course he has no faith in. Chidi’s decision excludes Tori from his plans and ultimately from his life. In search for consolation, companionship and support, Tori rekindle her soured relationship with her parents, and clutches to the warmth offered by a stranger. The individual paths chosen by this young couple widens as time pass by, as each struggle to understand and uphold their new found ‘self’.

Petina Gappah launches short story anthology
Zimbabwean author Petina Gappah will launch her first short story anthology, Elegy for Easterly, at Amanzi Restaurant in Harare, Zimbabwe on May 23.
The book, published last month by United Kingdom-based giant Faber and Faber, was launched to "much fanfare and excitement here in Europe," according to the author.
Gappah also revealed that there would be another launch of the same book in the United States early next month.
An ecstatic Gappah, writing from her base in Geneva, said she was looking forward to travelling to Zimbabwe from Switzerland for the Harare launch.
"I will be travelling to Southern Africa to launch the book in Fransschoek, Johannesburg, and Cape Town.
"Best of all would be the launch in my beloved Harare, where all but one of the 13 stories in the book are set," she said.
Gappah first rose to prominence when one of her short stories, The Mupandawana Dance Contest, scooped first prize in the Mukuru Nyaya.com short story competition. She becomes one of the few local authors to have their books published by an international firm.
